Philadelphia, PA – The LEADERSHIP Philadelphia Board of Directors has appointed Mike Eagles as the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive executive search. In support of the organization’s focus, Dr. Claire Robertson-Kraft, a Board member and regional civic and nonprofit leader, will partner with Mike on the design and delivery of LEADERSHIP’s Core Program. LEADERSHIP Philadelphia is a non-profit organization that mobilizes and connects leaders across the private, nonprofit, and public sectors to serve the community.
Mike joins the team having served in an interim capacity since January 2026. During that time, he set a compelling vision for the organization and worked with Claire on the design and delivery of the Core Program’s curriculum and experience.
“Mike has already demonstrated the thoughtful leadership, vision, and commitment needed to guide LEADERSHIP Philadelphia into the future,” said Hugh McStravick, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Together, Mike and Claire’s deep connection to the organization, combined with their executive and civic leadership experience, position LEADERSHIP to continue its strong impact across our Region.”
Mike is a proven business and non-profit leader deeply committed to Philadelphia’s civic community. He spent more than 15 years as a senior HR executive at Comcast where he led the company’s labor and employee relations function and employee engagement programs. He was a leader on Comcast’s National Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council and founded the Company’s in-house pro bono program. As a committed non-profit leader, Mike currently serves on the Board at the Vetri Community Partnership, and is a past Board member of the Homeless Advocacy Project.
“My connection to LEADERSHIP is deeply personal,” said Eagles. “As a Core graduate and longtime Board member, I’ve seen firsthand LEADERSHIP’s impact on leaders and organizations across our Region. I’m honored to step into this position and help lead LEADERSHIP into its next chapter.”
Claire has a wealth of experience at the intersection of leadership development, program design, and social impact. As the Faculty Co-Director at the Fels Institute of Government and the Founder and Executive Director of ImpactED, she partners with nonprofit and public sector organizations across the region. A 2012 Core Program graduate and 2014 Connector and Keeper, Claire is deeply committed to advancing civic engagement through LEADERSHIP’s reach and programming.
LEADERSHIP Philadelphia was founded in 1959 as the original and flagship model for over 1,000 such organizations across the country. Through its Core Program, LEADERSHIP enhances participants’ civic knowledge and awareness, and enriches their leadership skills. As a deeply trusted convener and thought leader, LEADERSHIP serves as the center of civic leadership in the Region.
